Our founder

In 2024, frustrated by the lack of reliable information on women’s midlife health, Kara Connell founded My Perimeno-Posse, an active and growing community for executive women to discuss perimenopause and access resources to make informed health decisions.

This led to a collaboration with Claire Gill and the National Menopause Foundation (NMF) in their Menopause Mini Masterclasses and a seat on the NMF Board of Directors.

On March 25, My Perimeno-Posse officially launched to include a community, advocacy, and education for executive women and their posses.

An accomplished executive, Kara Connell is passionate about building communities to enable women to achieve their dreams. Kara has over 20 years of experience in financial services, energy, and healthcare. Prior to founding MPP, Kara was VP of Sales Strategy, Operations and Chief of Staff at UnitedHealth Group. She also previously served as Senior Director of Strategy, Operations and Chief of Staff at Change Healthcare, and Global Marketing Leader at General Electric.

Kara holds an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management and is a graduate of GE’s Experienced Commercial Leadership program.

Hear from women who joined the MPP community

My first peri-sign was incredibly heavy periods. They were so bad I thought they may have been miscarriages. I casually mentioned this in a small group of women-- turns out they shared my experience. I no longer felt alone - and came away with options. Communities like these are so important to move past the taboo and support and celebrate the incredible capability of the female body.

Finally, I feel like I am not alone! Other women who understand what I’m experiencing, are compassionate, open and candid about their own experiences. There is power in this group of amazing women.

MPP has been a welcome source of support. Through it, I’ve discovered new strategies to support my health and gained a deeper appreciation for the power of women coming together to elevate this conversation.
